Nonprofit & Foundation Websites
Websites, brands and grant portals for small nonprofits and family foundations, built so the staff you have can run them.
Built for a Small Staff
Small nonprofits rarely have a web person. The Burt Foundation grants about $250,000 a year to childhood education, and its director keeps the site current herself.
Every section is locked, so she changes words and images without moving anything. The board roster lays itself out for however many people are on it.
When the Process Is the Problem
Discovery at Burt turned up an operations problem more than a design one. Applications were split across reviewers by hand, there was no scoring rubric, and ineligible organizations got all the way to a decision.
So we built a grant portal alongside the site. Letters of inquiry come first, reviewers score against a rubric, and the director runs a whole cycle in one dashboard.
A Brand That Works Next to Partners
HOSS distributes hygiene kits through partner clinics that already have brands of their own. So its identity is a set of colorways that sits next to any partner’s logo without fighting it.
